Blue - The Canine Rocky Is Sweet 16

Our Blue Heeler/Sheltie mix, Blue, previously appeared in the youtube video Blue The Canine Rocky. This is a sequel to that video.

Blue turned 16 in July, 2009--roughly 2 1/2 years after receiving a terminal diagnosis (and an estimated 30 days to live). Despite various ailments brought on by old age (arthritis, sluggish liver function, knee ligament damage) Blue continues to thrive thanks to various herbal supplements and a holistic care approach. She is happy, active, and still the alpha dog in a 3-dog household.

If you are a pet owner, please investigate alternative, herbal, holistic, and non-surgical options to traditional veterinary medicine. Blue is proof that many of these supplements have merit.

What a wonderful video. Our last Heeler was sixteen when the neighbor's dog came into our yard and killed him. We miss him so.

What a terrible tragedy. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Please consider adopting a shelter dog when you are ready. So many need a good home.
