Maybe the people who live local to these people you speak of need to help them instead of walk on by. Bystander syndrome comes in many forms. But it is a lot easier to blame actors trying to hepl 3rd world countries, isn't it?

Matt Damon is trough his popularity making a huge awareness on the global water problems. He do not think he have all the answers but he know that he can tribute with a lot just by simply showing up in the videos. But that is only the first step, getting it out in the public. Now it is up to you to contribute :).
