There need not necessary be a conflict between science and religion. Provided religion, and the religious, don't trespass into the arena of science.

I have no problem with people holding their own personal religious beliefs. But please do not seek to impose them on me.

In my view all religious claims, such as geocentricism, a 6,000 year old earth, a global flood, etc have been debunked by science. All that believers now have to rely on is "personal experience". If that is so then they should admit it. They should stop trying to convince people that they have evidence to support their claims. And they should stop trying to convert me on the basis of their personal convictions.

Some of the videos I used can be found here:

  • the message is a beautiful one, science marches foreward

religion will sit there drooling on itself

  • @maximunoutlaw32 You're absolutely right, but you don't need religion to have a great charity. The thing is that these people who fund, volunteer, and run the charities are good people. They were motivated to do good things because they are good people. Perhaps some were also motivated by their religion, but all in all the desire to do good is an individual thing. I'm an atheist, and I do good things. You're a theist, and I bet you do good things too. The belief in a god is separate from that.

  • The fat preacher doesn't support science, yet he speaks in the microphone and makes him self louder through speakers...... fuckin pisses me off

  • Time to abandon such outdated paradigms in order to progress.

  • Religion has, for better or worse, shaped the modern world. Regardless of whether or not you agree with any "one" of the many religious views and opinions, our planets history has an intrinsic basis in religion. Every religion has been of immeasurable importance to the modern world. The only question now is why we still so fervently cling to it now that it has served its usefulness. There was importance of such belief systems for the development of our species, but no longer.

  • OH OH, you know what religion did? they replaced the word "booty" with the word "spoils" in some weird book...

  • @Mogley52 I am sorry to inform you that biology is not atheism.
