On April 19, 2011, we commemorated the Willard Straight Take-Over by looking at how far we have come in the campaign to save Cornell's Africana Studies and Research Center from Provost Kent Fuchs secretive, deceptive, and unilateral decision to subsume it under the College of Arts and Sciences. We contend that the quality and effectiveness of the AS&RC as a center of knowledge and the primary force for faculty diversity is rooted in a distinctive relationship to the university, beyond the jurisdiction of the College of Arts & Sciences; and just like the students of 1969, we will not stop until we are heard!

At several points in this video, you will see footage of President Skorton and Provost Fuchs contradict themselves, attempt to mislead, and most importantly, admit that the decision was made without a "plan."

A luta continua (in English: the struggle continues) was the rallying cry of the FRELIMO movement during Mozambique's war for independence. The phrase is Portuguese but was used by FRELIMO leader Samora Machel to cultivate popular support against the Portuguese colonial presence.

This video is a loving and exemplary collaboration between many people.
