The Church's philosophy of leaving such crimes to the justice of God in the afterlife rather like giving it now according to Caesar is a crime in any plane. The reason why Caesar's justice is necessary is because it provides a deterrent NOW and may protect other victims NOW.

They were torture camps, including Mental institutions that were used to abuse the Irish People.
