  • You said it would be out 2009, but it isn't , is it comming out after all? and how long is your progress you think?

  • Well, a release date for 2009 was set once, but that was several years ago, & the amount of work behind the ~1500 vfx shots was simply underestimated, also given that the VFX are done in our freetime - we're few, not a company; and humans: Despite my 600+ shot record by now I don't want to give up on sleeping...

    Probably the biggest mistake was that a release date was "officially set" once;

    "We're done when we're done", simply put, but now people complain because the release gets postponed...

  • Hey were those clouds in the middle of the video done in vue or were they camera mapped?

    Please answer me!

    Greets

    Heltfilm

  • @h1a1l1l1o - Apart from the clouds far behind, which are part of a colour corrected panoramic image, the mid & foreground clouds are full volumetric renders done in 3ds Max using Afterburn, along with more colour & lighting effects done in After Effects;

    However I had actually considered using either Vue or the Ozone plugin, nevertheless the Afterburn clouds came in handy alot better, simply for speed & efficiency... ;)

  • Whoa, is that a battlestar I see at 2:07 ? Btw, amazing work Andreas.

  • @maarten562

    yep, added that one in as a small easter egg ^^

  • WAW !

  • @KuderFilms - do you mean that shot in particular? - well that was done using 3ds max & after effects...

  • I actually think there are way more BSG ships in your shots than Star Wars ones

    It's good that I compensate this in some ship-crowded sequences like in Coreign or Emperta ahahahaha ;-)

  • Okay, ty for your quick answer, and I dont get that ppl complain about it, they should be happy you work on it after all.

  • WOW! You have done some beautiful work there. When do you expect your project be completed?
