  • I've been spending a lot of time watching your videos Chris, I'm 17. I just graduated high school but ever since I was a little kid I would force my dad to take me to job sites to watch the machines and ever since I've been absolutely hooked and want to get in to this as a career. My questions are a couple, what does it pay? Realistically? I've heard estimates of approx. $20-40/hr, how do you like your job? What's it like getting in to this career? Anyone with responses will help, thanks!

  • @woofiny yeah down here people make about 10- 18 a hour running machines, not a get rich quick job but it pays the bills

  • @deere624kloader Typed like a time and tested true operator, like you have been running gear for many years, oh wait, you are only 14, so spoken like a true and time tested keyboard operator.

  • that a 35 TON???

  • @wingmanalive No guarantee you'll make 65k a year, even running a rig (crane). Nothing's guaranteed in life.

  • @woofiny Most people start out as a laborer and work their way up from there. The wage depends upon what they pay in your local area.

  • @Kurisuchianu89 Not crying, just an observation, I can't help the dumb bastard can't drive the truck right.

  • @95t600 bah, cry some more ;)

  • @woofiny IT's a competative fild of work. take's a while till you can be competative.

  • @letsdig18 i work for local 181 as an operating engineer and we make 22-28 depending on the job but we only work 9 months a year go union it pays better

  • @hr0cln0wn thats true, finaly i see some people get it!, i just know a bit cause a lot of my family watchs all them shows, but i am all with u

  • @letsdig18 In Jersey heavy equipment ops get $50,000+/year. If you're fortunate to land a crane op job then you're looking at $65,000+ easy. Sounds like a lot but when you factor in the cost of living it's not really much. If you made $20/hr in the south you're doing really well imo. $20/hr up here? Better be married or have a 2nd income lol.
