  • @Hurd300403 does the difference between a 1.8 and 1.4 lens really matter? Are they identical or major difference. But I was looking at that lens especially because of the price.

  • @LCAPhoto the 1.4 lenses are usually built better. metal casing, a bit higher performing glass and such, but the visual differences between 1.8 and 1.4 are very slight. the 35 1.8 does have a bit more noticeable vignetting on a full frame sensor, but on the d3100 you'll be just fine. if you aren't going to be shooting every day of the week you probably don't need the 1.4 simply because you won't need the better build quality

  • Quick question... I'm getting a D3100 with a 18-55 and 55-300mm. What lens should I invest in later on if I get any extra money? Should I get one with a wider maximum aperture? Because the the widest I can get is 3.6 and thats on my 18-55 and if anything I would use my 55-300mm more.

  • @LCAPhoto yes... i would highly HIGHLY recommend the nikon 35mm 1.8 lens. Absolutely that should be the next lens you purchase.

  • nice gear, i wonder did you take media and communication school or any other studys???

  • @TestMyDroid nope! i majored in computers

  • @TheEvilGamers good thing Linda isn't a word.

  • @xxgwyloxx Ah, you're one of those types. First off, I couldn't care less. Second, I have better things to do than learn Japanese, especially to learn how to "properly say Nee-kon". Third, words from other cultures get slaughtered all the time and it becomes accepted/the norm. Pop a Xanax and go enjoy your day.

  • Did anyone else notice the lack of lens cap on the 70-200mm!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • little shake but great............I always dreams that i wuold have a gear like you do!

  • Wow I can't believe people actually liked that comment by drouleau :L I just mean if you're going to use a brand at least learn the proper way to say its name?

  • What is the yellow flashlight you use for light painting? thanks!

  • @Baojunny I will be using a DX camera so I'm good!

  • @LCAPhoto Also, the 1.8 is a DX lens. If he were to use it on his D700, which is FX, then the D700 would automatically set itself to DX crop meaning that you're only using 6 megapixels.

  • @hurd300403 nice!

  • @Hurd300403 Any other types of lenses you think I should consider purchasing?
