  • Some were good...some were great...only 1 was Senna

  • More power, less grip, manual gboxes, no power steering, no gimics/tricks, less aero... just because the stop watch says a big number, doesn't mean its easier!! lol

  • @oktubre80 Well said - in fact the word "Senna" should be put in the dictionary - meaning " a step above genius".

  • @jimnebob Well said! I raced karts for nearly 10 years - my 200cc kart on old tyres did the same lap time as my 100cc kart on new tyres - but by god it was 3 times harder to drive! Similarly 2010 F1 may be a few seconds faster - but its MUCH MUCH easier than it was 20 years ago.

  • @jimnebob YES!!! drivers then litterally out their neck on the line

  • @mushrume In fact Senna already had 61 poles in 7 years, at the end of 91. He took only 1 pole in 92-93 period (in Adelaide 93) because of Williams' total technological domination. His final 3 poles came in 94. One thing which has to be pointed out is most of Senna's poles were done when they used Qualifying tires, which nobody would practice on as everyone was saving them for their actual flying laps, so nobody knew how much grip exactly they would offer. Senna was able to feel how much.

  • @thehitchrules deff the pole master . vettel is 5 years into his carer with 27 . senna got 65 in 9years !!.

he will not match the consistency of senna. i too believe 6 times winning at monaco will never be broken .

senna just tried so much harder than the others . it's as if fear did not exsist in his helmet .

  • the king doing what he does best senna was and still is my hero i was only 7 months old when he died :'( but at least he died doing what he loved there will never be anyone as good or even close to senna and the closest is shumacher may he rest in peace

  • @F1archivesDotCom ah i thought the mp4 that senna used in monaco

  • @xzinx No, it wasn't a turbo. It had a maximum of 680-700 in 1989.

  • @Rivelution that old car has 1200 hp =) faster than todays f1 cars
