1968 7 Up Commercial

In 1968, 7up utilized the style made successful by Peter Max (who did Yellow Submarine and whos style was being heavily used in advertising at the time) in one of it's commercials, this one for a contest called "The Un-Thing" where several prizes were offered. I digially enhanced this :30 spot.

Peter Max did not design Yellow Submarine. It looks exactly like his art, but Heinz Edellman was the art director.

Its actually true. Max is a billionaire artist , so is LeRoy Neiman, Yaacov Agam, and Damien Hirst,,according to their close staff. I know Max, Neiman and Agam over 30 years. Hirsts wealth was published in the papers..

@artbargainer I wish you wouldn't use words like billionaire unless it's actually true. Despite the impressions some people have of their favorite entertainers having unlimited wealth, very few entertainers are actually billionaires. There's Oprah, and Paul McCartney, and...who else? Martha Stewart at one point but I think not anymore. Trump maybe, but he's an entertainer because he's a billionaire (if true) - he didn't become a billionaire by being an entertainer.

Yeah, Peter didn't do Yellow Submarine. He was supposed to, but it didn't work out. A few years ago, George Harrison said that Peter had made a career from having done Yellow Submarine, when he hadn't. (Not the exact words). Peter did just fine on his own....
