Here's another visualization of blood flow using the blender game engine. This time I let the bullet physics engine do more work. Instead of spherical bounding boxes, the red blood cells have convex bounding hulls. Seems to work a lot better. Also, the friction of the blood vessel is set very low.

This uses the blender game engine to render the simulation in real time.

For fun, I put in an illustration of arteriosclerosis. A growing plaque on the lining of the blood vessel.

  • Yeah, too many collisions with convex bounding hulls caused the big framerate drop. Maybe I should do a lower poly version.

  • Maybe your bounding should just be the lozenge shape, not exactly the RBCs exterior. Keep up the good work!
