  • Not to sound like a douchebag, but some people can network and some cannot. I passed my CCNA first time and am studying for my CCIE R&S written (CCNA, CCNA Security and CCNP guy here), just got a job as a Managed Service Provider.

If you failed the CCNA 4 times, you may want to rethink your career path. There is NO FOUL in admitting that it's not your think. It takes a special brain to have it all click. Many network folks I've trained and hired... Not one of them is able to go beyond Tier1.

  • @SnowShael Ok, I really want to counter this comment. I want to say that this comment is negative and untrue. This is what I would like to say. I see this as being negative, but there is a lot of truth to this. If you have failed something 4 times, you do have to evaluate the reason why. But I agree with you in the way of about those who cannot go beyond Tier1. Can you tell us how long you have been in the field and total time it took you pass all your exams?

  • @SnowShael Now on the other side of my thoughts.....I agree with you 100%. I believe that there are characteristic that are needed to be in Networking. A desire to learn, noisiness, the concepts are like a drug to you, and the determination to continue to the CCIE level. I think all of these are needed to be good in Networking and only the few have it. I have to admit that this was an interesting comment that you have posted and I thank you for the post. Reach out to me on Linkedin :)

  • @SnowShael I will totally disagree with you on your comments above. First and foremost, I find it very demotivating and shows you are not motivating your guys enough to progress to tier 2 or tier 3. Thomas Edison, inventor of the electric bulb failed more than 1000 times in order to finally come out with the light we all currently enjoy. This channel is for learners like me who are venturing into the cisco realm for some real networking experience. People who quit after failing are the losers.

  • @ikaboagye That is the attitude that I like to hear. Never Never quit. Edison failed 1000 times, yes. And each time he tried something different to be successful. I do agree with SnowShael in some degree. However, giving up is not what I believe in. I believe failure should be analyzed and learned from so the same mistake is not made. I Failed ICND1 and ICND2 once. I failed BSCI twice. I failed T-Shoot twice. I decided to quit once. And yet I am still in it and kicking strong

  • @cyclist14 Excellent, congrats on the pass and good luck on your future studies! How was your exam? I sat mine last Saturday, completely blanked on a couple of routing questions and, unfortunately didn't pass. I got a 750 and knew exactly where I made my mistakes. Going to sit it again in 2 weeks.

  • @vinnieenglish That's my plan right now, I got my CCENT a week ago and I am studying really hard for my ICND2 which I will be taking in March. After that its on to CCNP!

  • @booduh099 Thanks for your advice. I had some failures too from failing comptia A+ 3 times and failing my MCITP(70-686) first time. Actually going back to reinforce studies helped me gain much knowledge and increased my level of understanding. These exams are not meant for everyone to get a 100% pass, otherwise everyone would be certified easily. Thats why I always appreciate ppl who pass these tough exams and encourage those who do not to keep trying. Thanks for your views and advice

  • I find your videos very informative. Thanks for posting. I have my ICND1 exam on 2/18. I have read Todd Lammles book once, going back through it again now. I also bought the CBT nuggets package off their website. Very good training material. I have a rather good lab that I have put together; 4x 2950 switches. 2x 1841's 2x 2600xm's and a 2801, I'm planning on pursuing the CCNP after I take both CCENT and ICND2.

  • @booduh099 I am currently studying for my CCNA exams. I would like to get some advice on building a home lab (example how many routers and switches/types as well). Also, at what point in your personal experience can one be fully comfortable taking the exams? I am planning on taking the 2 exams. Your feedback and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your videos !!!
