Bought the a40, used them for about a year, and then a screw fell out that held the top of the headset to the ear cup, and a SINGLE wire broke, astro says they won't repair it.. biggest POS company, don't buy from these idiots.

avoid getting these headsets. the chat quality isnt that great as ppl make it out to be. u cant hear ur teammates on black ops for example unless u turn the chat volume all the way up which then turns the game volume off because u cant independently change the chat and game volume separelty. it doesnt give u that balance of game and chat volume like other headsets do

Angarponcho, try updating the MixAmp with the firmware update on Astros website. If you're still hsving problems then it might be the USB

I have the Astro A40 2013 Edition gaming headset. The only issue I am having is the volume is very low even when maxed out. I have tried everything. Made sure all the cables were in nice and tight, tried them on my Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Updated the firmware and everything. Besides that they are amazing and very comfortable.
