Don't let the time your computer sits idle go to waste! Put it to good use by scheduling automated tasks, perform maintenance, open documents, launch programs and even brew a hot pot of coffee. OK, maybe not the coffee. A Internet tutorial by butterscotch.com.

O.K., so I'll have all the tasks run ay 5:00, since by then I'll DEFINITELY be in bed, sothe computer will be idle for about 6 hours. Thank you VERY much for your help!

@stevenscottoddballz You need not leave space between each. You can have multiple tasks run at the same time the same way you can open multiple files and run multiple applications at the same time in ordinary computer use. The tasks may run slower than they would if you'd left space between them, but only insofarasmuch as your computer tends to run slower when you ask it to open multiple applications at the same time.

O.K. I'll plan on leaving it on Sunday mornings, since I go to bed early for Church. Can the different tasks run at the same time, or should I leave a 1/2 hour or 1 hour space between each?

@stevenscottoddballz You should plan on leaving it on. They can't run when the computer is turned off, although I believe they can indeed run when the computer is in standby or hibernate.

Will these tasks run when the computer is turned off,or should I plan on leaving it on one day a week? (I typically turn it off before I go o bed, & I typically go back on about Noon.)
