In May 1986, TV Times asked children under the age of 18 to compose a 'Song for Christmas' in aid of the Leukaemia Research Fund's Silver Jubilee Appeal.
Out of hundreds of songs received four were selected by the panel of judges.
These songs were performed on TV-am's Wide Awake Club by the preteen pop group, Minipops.
Viewers were asked to vote for their favourite song and the winner was 'Adventures of Santa' composed by 14 year old Lotte White of Accrington.
After hearing these songs myself on the Wide Awake Club and because of their cause I purchased my own copy of the record.
How could I not after losing A sister to Leukaemia myself when I was just 14 years old.
Well done Lotte and all the runners up.
Although cheery, it brings a tear to ones eye. Fond memories. Thanks Flash...
