Google Book Search: Users speak

Indeed! Google is amazing for bringing some of the most hard to find books on a wide range of subjects. I am from Trinidad and none of the books that I now enjoy exist in the libraries here. Thank you Google!

Google Book Search helped my immensely with my thesis (political science). I saved a lot of time I would have otherwise spent searching for sources, and at most times I wouldn't have found them in the libraries, even in the German National Library.

The PhD student has a rather large tome propping up the monitor on her desk! Is this a deliberate editorial comment on the value/purpose of books after they're digitized? Hmm.

Google books let me find concepts from very reliable sources, and I try to find out this books. It is good, now I can read, and find out many very good information that is difficult to find in my library. Now I spend less time finding specials topics because it also search into the chapters ¡it is amazing!

Google Book Search stands on a delicate compromise between, on the one hand, the interests of society in progress by making information and research more easily accessible, and on the other,preserving the incentive system inherent in the copyright system that allows authors to make a living by producing research and advancing social progress. One way to tweak the balance might be to shorten the length of time in which copyright affords protection.

Google Books is an amazing new resource of particular use to historians.
