  • nice job done :)

how weight the Y axis is?

i make a mendel too of aluminium, but im scraret to get big masses on the Y axis...

  • @poller2810 I don't know the exact weight but I didn't modify from the original design much and it seems to be fine with solid Al parts.

  • Excellent!

What did you slice it with? RepRap host, skeinforge, or something else?

  • @jlkeegan RepRap host.

  • @Stoney3K Aluminum requires 660°C for melting, so I guess you'd need extra cooling for the whole rest of the machine

  • If only there was an extruder head for aluminium on the Mendels.

Strictly speaking this one is a RepStrap (sine it can't print parts for itself), however, a head for Al would be absolutely awesome.

  • Great job!
