Pune: Army jawans & cops clash

A group of army jawans clashed with the police following an altercation over traffic violation, sparking tension in Pune on Tuesday (Jan 31) evening. According to the police, the trouble started when a jawan attached to the College of Military Engineering (CME), riding a motorbike, was stopped by a traffic constable at Sambhaji Bridge for running into a no-entry area. The jawan then returned with his friends and assaulted the policemen at the nearby outpost, police said.

some of the cadets said that they were pissed when the cops refused to give the receipt for the fine( not sure) they are in punishment period as of now...

hope some1 from the scene will come out and say the truth soon

one of my friend is from CME... he said the cadets accepted the fault and they were ready to pay fine to the women constable but another male constable arrived and started harassing the cadets and took them to the police station... only after that army officers went in to rescue the cadets... where the police used inappropriate words to our officers only then our jawans arrived in two canters and replied in their own style..

Times now should be ashamed of themselves. U clearly see two officers being assaulted by a mob of policemen. what did u expect from the army? sweets?

The police goons think that they can do whatever they wish, and being the law enforcement themselves they are assured of protection. The problem is when the pandus come up against folks with equally assured immunity.. If this was a civilian instead of army guys the police would have threatened to "encounter" the civilian. In this case they could not "rob jamao" on the army folks.

The general tune of reporting in Army bashing media is not to report the truth in the case of V K Singh's birthdate issue or be it pune polic-army clash or be it kashmir.

If what is seen is to be believed the media reports of high handedness of the officers are grossly incorrect.

The day is not far when this country is going to suffer a bloody nose and you will find the persons who shed blood are not the young officers as has happened in previous conflicts.

Army should beat the crap out of these police thugs and politicians and lying sold out media people.clearly its a mistake of police not the army officer.Army men are known by people who serve the nation.these police Pandus and politicos and media are in pocket of dawood ibrahim and together they loot and harrass hapless citizens.

It is important to note the Pune police commissioner, that if u check @ Lakdi bridge there r not much visible Traffic plates posted on both entrance side as not allowed for 2 Wheeler's betwn 9 AM-9 PM .and Traffic police never behave properly with passengers and too much arrogant.U will see both side of pathways are flooded with political parties banner or Advertisement .But neither municipal corporation nor Traffic police bother abut this.Traffic Police are doing black money business...!!

Army is meant to serve the country, police is meant to serve the people, lets say even if army men were found on the wrong side isn't it police' s responsibility to help instead of bullying. And as a nation think....if army men will not fight back for their own pride and self protection how will they fight for all of you..in the battle field cause is not personal....remember this...
