Queen of Hearts not Alice ~~ Ballet slippers

The ballet slippers pictured in this video are not the originals unfortunately. Well when I was a very little girl in London like most little girls I wanted to be a ballerina. I took dance classes for tap and ballet like most little girls. One of my Mom's friends sister worked as an assistant to famous Mary Martin. She gave me a pair of her dancing slippers as I called them. They were worn and too big for my little feet but my mom said I shuffled all around the house. Those ballet slippers are long gone like the years gone by but not the memory. So that's what I remember when I see ballet slippers.
I wanted to wear them in all the school plays. I was the Queen of Hearts not Alice, I was the mother cat in Three Little kittens, I was a mushroom and the fairy godmother in Cinderella.

I never had a daughter only a son to tell that story to.

I hated ballet because I could not touch my toes to my head like all the other girls! But it is still a good memory being in the performances. I loved my special ballet slippers! I really really liked the costumes the most and the fantasy of the stories and characters.
