Just testing out some techniques in After Effects using an awesome shot of one of my favorite cars, the Subaru WRX STi.

This was made using only Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop CS3.
I essentially cut the photo into different pieces, placed them staggered throughout 3D space, added some camera movement, then used the liquify effect to make the dirt and dust appear to be moving.

As always, like, comment, and subscribe, and since this was my first attempt at something like this, kindness is appreciated, but criticism is welcome. THANKS!!

  • looks good.. is there any way to do that with an actual video.. like.. make it do that effect and go into it going normal speed from the video?

  • @killme4food if you shot at high rate of frames per second it would be very simple to just use a technique called time remapping

  • pretty good but wouldn't the wheel be spinning more than that?

  • @qordndid it probably would, you're right, but the way I animated it sort of limited the range of motion while still looking realistic. Thanks for the comment

  • That's an interesting idea - how long did that take?

  • @l0gically about three hours from concept to upload, not too bad
