Case studies from RMI's video High Performance Building: Performance by Integrated Design. Ideally, the integrated design process starts as early as possible, but as the Chicago Botanic Garden proved, it can also be an invitation to re-evaluate missed opportunities. The Chicago Botanic Garden involved RMI in the construction document phase to use integrated design principles to hunt for missed opportunities for energy savings. With numerous changes to daylighting and mechanical systems, modifications to the Garden's new Plant Conservation Science Center will likely reduce annual energy by 43%.
