  • Jimbow. Your mentioning a bicycle pump got me thinking. I've got one of those cig lighter tire inflating compressors. Do you know of any fittings that I could use to connect from the standard locking-tire-inflation-tube end to a compressor fitting, so I could put together what you used to tie your compressor to the public water inlet on the trailer. Paul (paulyeddyfreddy)

  • @paulyeddyfreddy I tried to fit my tire pressure guage onto a compressor fitting - and it fit near perfectly. You might just be on to something. Give it a try and see if the locking mechanism will latch onto the compressor fitting. You might have to grind down the little collar on the fitting to get the lock to go on far enough to bite. Also, if your compressor dosn't have a regulator you will need to be very careful not to over pressure the system as it might pop a hose loose.

  • Great video. What's the minimum size air compressor I should buy to blow out the lines of a 22' travel trailer

  • @paulyeddyfreddy Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I am using a compressor that came from Walmart. It has a two gallon tank and will go up to a maximum 100 psi, but don't go over 25 psi. I'm not sure what the qubic feet per minuite of my compressor is, but you can use any type/size compressor that can sustain 20 psi and has a pressure regulator. I think even a bicycle pump would work if you just open one faucet at a time and then pump like crazy. Best wishes !

  • Hello this is one of the best videos that I've watched so far on compressed air winterization!!! It even helps that we have a Jayco as well. All though I would like to know what the parts are all called and necessary to make the little gizmo to hook up to the city water inlet & compressor. Thank you for the info.

  • @lilwranglergirl I started with a a standard female pneumatic tool fitting. From there I used a brass 3/8" nipple to couple with a brass 3/8" female X 1/2" male adapter which coupled to a brass 1/2" female to male hose threads. Be sure and use teflon tape (white, pink or yellow will work) to get a good seal. Hope this helps.

  • Ya great demonstration.Thx, I used a 2 dollar, air /hose bib from the rv store then drilled out a male to maie air fitting and glued the two together so i could burp the lines by me self as you did.

  • Thankyou for your reply, I did it exactly as you said I even made a gizmo just like yours for the city water inlet. Cheers mate. Scotty (Iowa)

  • @smcliffhanger492 The water heater tank should be emptied, but it is not necessary to by-pass the tank with the compressed air method. When using RV antifreeze, the HW tank is drained and then by-passed to avoid having to fill the 5 gal. tank with the antifreeze - which cost around $4.00 per galon.

  • Do you bypass the water heater using this method? Thanks.
