If you'd like to see the video to which this is a response, the link is on this page, right under "Top comments", so I'm not sure why you claim we'll "never know" if this is a conversation with an 8-year old. If someone you were publicly debating totally mischaracterized your position and arguments, what would you do differently?

2:28 - I think a better way to phrase this idea (which is how I talk about it) is to say that there are consistent patterns in the world around us, and logic is a description OF those patterns: logic is a DEscriptive (not PREscriptive) idea. Identifying the specific definition of a word (or words) isn't nitpicking, it's good communication with less possibility for misinterpretation. Clear and precise definitions are anathemas to religious fanatics. As long as they can wallow in vague interpretations of words and cliched lines that don't really mean anything, they can continue "interpreting" bible verses to suit their immediate needs.
