The chords in the song are incredibly simple/conventional. They don't even have 7ths in them. This guy is mostly soloing in B Minor and E Lydian and it sounds good, but it's a significant departure from either Pachelbel or Jerry C or Funtwo's version. I prefer Mattrach's rendition, which included a lot of cool things like pedal tones and natural harmonics. This has a little too much shredding (which gets boring after awhile) for me.

what do you think half the guitar solo's in the world are?! they are used because they work and sound good together, its difficult to make solo's like this using unconventional sets of chords etc
