This is the fastest you'll ever see in Super Monkey Ball 2 without the need of cheats. On top of getting the fastest possible speed going straight up without cheating, I also get the goal by landing safely on the stage after numerous bounces and with the stage coming up so fast, you can't rely on both it and the minimap to land, you have to watch the monkey in the ball to tell if you're over something solid or not.
To allow you to see the full experience of what 4500 mph is really like, I stopped the clock. Without stopping the clock, the time would've run out while still going up at over 999 mph. The speed may only show up as 999 mph, but if you haven't seen the "outside world tours" videos, especially that of world 6 at the end, you can see that you can go much faster by noting the pos.y (which decreases at an accelerating rate, that of spd.y) and spd.y values (which keeps on increasing at about 0.0098 per frame) and the speed as shown (which stops at 999 when spd.y is around 7.45 although spd.y goes even higher than that). You can also tell by noting how fast the ground comes up after the first long fall (which is at 4500 mph) then how fast it comes up after two bounces (the first at about 2250 mph and the second at 1125). Just before the third bounce starts, at about 570 mph (note that it keeps halving), the ground comes up much slower.
Besides the main stunt, I've included a small part of what I spent at least 4 hours doing as an attempt to get this video (which is the main reason why I took so long to get it - 500+ attempts is no joke). A 0.2% chance for a success is not something you'd want to bother with much. It'd be so much more fun if it wasn't for those annoying invisible walls about 100 meters or so outside the stage. If I had an Action Replay code where I could push the X button to set the spd.x and spd.z values to exactly zero, doing this would be a lot more fun (and I'd have an otherwise 99+% success rate), but still, it won't work at all in the space station version (beginner extra 5) because of the invisible wall above that causes fallout to occur when touched.
Ulillillia,
Why did you stop playing SMB2?
It is a great game, and i would be really happy if you did at least one more vid.

One word: Disgaea. Disgaea has seriously taken over almost every game I play. Consider the fact I've racked up 2300 hours of play on Disgaea 1 and 2 combined in only 22 months. That's an average of 3 1/2 hours per day for about 670 days. No other game has ever come close to that in my life and this streak still continues.

Technically, it's only about 60% of the way into space. Space starts 100 km (62 miles) above the ground and this only gets to 60 km, given debug mode's stats.

how do you get the cheats to stop the clock and others like hover and moon jump?

See the "jungle tour" video for SMB1's world tours video - various codes are displayed first thing in the video.
