By far the greatest moment in rock and roll history. Thumbs up if you agree.....

what an amazing moment. Call it blasphemous but I personally think this was a more epic moment than Hendrix's Star Spangled Banner

Awful for the performers, maybe, but I would have probably had a heart attack watching something this amazing live.

Yeah, and if you read Pete Townshend's descriptions of the event you'd be glad you weren't there! It sounds awful. I'll stick with the videos.

It almost makes me think, that it was fake. Like, before we were born, people faked all these awesome performances and records, so we could discover them somehow and be totally mindblown. If I were to watch an HD clip from Woodstock, it's the same definition as any professional film today, but I personally couldn't imagine people looking like that nowadays. It's unimaginably awesome. Incredible, actually.

Blasphemer! But it is definitely up there. Woodstock was a moment in time most of us wish we were there for. It's all amazing.

Nothing particular on their own but the counter culture was certainly a positive force in American culture even if it accomplished little directly. The whole "Get stoned, play folk and fuck" mentality was just one aspect of that.
