Wow this video is so different then your newer ones.
Quoting the Zohar, Promoting the 7 laws of Noah , Saying things must be done even though they are not Halakha ( ie. white table cloth, not speaking after washing)
I love seeing peoples journeys unfold.

@1984vrs You seem to be confused about why the man was killed. He was killed for working on Saturday. Specifically, for gathering wood. Numbers 15:32-36. This sort of behavior is addressed in Exodus 31:14,15, and Exodus 35:2. God is telling the Israelites to kill people if they work on Saturday. You said: "the command was for everyone". So what? What's your point. How does killing this working man make the Israelites better off?
-
@chilimaan Murder is against the law for peoples benefit, but if some one steals and is put to death for it, is the law not beneficial just because one person breaks the law and gets punished, does that one person breaking the law debunk it's usefulnnes? And how are the prophecies "off"?
-
@1984vrs "The command was for everyone"
So what? Then everyone would benefit if this man was killed for being productive on Saturday?
How is killing people for working on saturday good?
Actually, the messianic prophecies themselves are "off"
-
@chilimaan The command was for everyone not this one man. The point is you have one day you rest and cease from your work. I read it in context, Israel had broken it's covenant and turned to wicked ways. For example in Isaiah 53 it says the Mashiach would come and "But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed." Besides his crirtiques of messianic prophecies and Mashiach are off

@1984vrs Why would it matter if the man was ignorant of the commands? If he's killed for breaking the commandment, it's unreasonable to claim the command was for his benefit.
I must disagree with your claim about Isiah. God is in fact rebuking them for their wickedness, listing the wicked things they did to offend him. Read 1:12-13 in context. "Who told you to do these things?" Rings out loud and clear.
Geoashers analysis of the Sabbath is simply silly paper-over-the-cracks apologia.
-
@chilimaan Actually it's more complicated than that. First, that was one man who was not ignorant of the comands, second the point is man gets atleast one day to rest from the labor billions have to do daily, In Isaiah G-d was rebuking them because of there hypocriacy and wickedness not denouncing Shabbat. Noah wasn't commanded to observe Shabbat and more so the Torah doesn;t specify the day id Noah used a calander at all at that point. And for something as important its obviously permitted

Deuteronomy 5:15. Has God saying the Sabbath is because of the exodus.
Numbers 15:32-36 Has God ordering Moses to have someone killed for working on the Sabbath. (The Sabbath is for mans benefit? Really?)
Of course, Isiah 1:13 has God denying the Sabbath has anything to do with his worship.
Noah? Passed out drunk in his tent. Was that the Sabbath day?
The day (for Jews) begins at sundown. Yep.
Can unclean women light the candles? They spend a good part of their lives "unclean".

Why was the word rested used in the first place ? Refrained from Creation could have been used. Not eve the Quran uses rested, and it was written 1400 years ago.
