Sonic Boom, Sonic Boom, Sonic Boom~
SAVE THE PLANET FROM DISASTER~

The following is an any% playthrough of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes with the HUD disabled. As a result, I will be unable to see my Health Bar, Missile Ammo, Beam Ammo, Danger Indicator, Minimap, any Boss's Health Bar, or the Radar.

For a more informative 100% run, check out Blackbelt Bobman's LP of the whole trilogy.

Metroid, Metroid Prime and all related titles are (c) Nintendo and Retro Studios. I played the game, I didn't make it.

  • I wasn't suggesting to make it more intuitive, I was asking if you would still consider it stupid. Since in that example, two of the sounds were being used twice. I don't get how it's not intuitive in the first place. A door makes four sounds in an order using three different sounds, and three poles that are obviously connected to the door that make those same sounds. I'm sure it's even more intuitive if you scan the poles and the door, as scanning stuff usually tells you what you need to do.

  • Unintuitive=Stupid.

And it's unintuitive for the reason I just gave - the Echo Visor is designed for seeing sound. The door says that it's sound-based, but no sound waves are seen - completely contrary to the many Echo Visor puzzles before it. They drastically change the game mechanics with no indication other than vague beeps that sound like the beeps in prior puzzles.

  • Datai, if there were five locks on the door instead of four, yet still three sounds, would you still have this problem with it? It'd be like:

"DING, DING, Dong, Dlung, Dong". on the door, and you'd shoot the pole things in that order.

  • How would that make it any easier? It's still unintuitive - since the Echo Visor is supposed to let you, ya know, see sound, you wouldn't really be listening.

  • Why do you think so, Datai? I'm not disrespecting your opinion, but I didn't have any trouble with that puzzle when I first played through, it seems like a normal everyday puzzle. It's not especally hard to figure out, is it? You notice three things that make three different sounds, and a door that plays those sounds in a certain order. That's kind of simple, isn't it?

  • Three different sounds, and you have to shoot four times.

    That's stupid.

  • LOL It seems like Samus isnt even wearing her helmet in this run!

Although she has to in the dark world or shes dead as a doornail

  • coolio

  • Well.... I can't think of any more arguments, Datai. I guess you win this one? I just have to say, I didn't have any trouble on this puzzle the first time I played with no prior knowledge. So it has SOME intuitivity, I guess. But maybe the game designers should have added the sound effect blobs for the Echo Visor to doors like that. I agree with you there.

  • Shooting the same one twice is retarded, and you're wrong to say otherwise.
