Health care reform will have enormous implications for tax policy. And the reverse is also true: Tax policy is a key instrument for shaping behavior in the health care market, and lies at the center of fiscal issues raised by reform. The link between these two areas was the focus of a March 4 Graduate Tax Program discussion in Furman Hall titled Checking Up on Health Care Tax Reform. NYU Professor of Law and Public Policy Lily Batchelder moderated the discussion among three panelists: Sylvia Law, Elizabeth K. Dollard Professor of Law, Medicine and Psychiatry at NYU; Leonard Burman, Daniel Patrick Moynihan Chair in Public Affairs at the Maxwell School of Syracuse University; and Amy Monahan, a professor at the University of Minnesota Law School.
