Our Jack Russell goes to his first fox training. Here the focus is in dog's initial reaction, the dog should be barking and alert: like trying to drive the fox out of a cave. Some training is done before trying a real fox cave test. After a series of fox cave tests, the dog can become certified as a utility/hunting dog.

Video includes barking. Music: Diablo - Living Dead Superstar.

  • how come Jack russell Terriers look diffrent, this one seems shorter

  • @Bulif There are actually three types: Jack Russell (short legs), Parson Russell (longer legs, about equal height and length) and a working Russell (short legs, a bit stockier variety). There are also different coat types so yeah, they can look different.. :)

  • how old is he in this video ? im getting a jack in a week :D

  • Congrats, Jack Russells are great dogs! He was about one and half years at that time..

  • can you start training them even younger in fox hunting or is 1 nd half just right ?

  • @Con5110 I'm not an expert, but I guess you can start training when the dog is nearly "grown-up".

  • I hate it when people say that a short tail or whatever is an "undesirable" trait...forget all that hoity-tooth stuff! A jack Russell is a rugged little guy, and that's all that matters!
