I type in "Please Mister Postman" and hit search. Then I go to the song's info on Wikipedia. I scroll to the bootom where it says #1 R&B songs of 1961. Go to the bottom of that and click on the years that are there.

steady deep rhythm groove done right, staccato horns saying their 'amens', sneaky lead licks between aisles, and the Rev. Dr. of Soul, the late Mr. Rufus Thomas preaching the gospel and leading the choir at the same time. We miss you Mr. Thomas, please rest in eternal peace.

A #1 hit for Rufus Thomas on the Rhythm & Blues charts. It was the 221st #1 R&B song of the Rock Era. It also hit #25 on the Top 40 charts.

Yup I heard this on the LSD no-no, too. Great song, makes me get up and move.
