ive been tying flies for about five years and for some reason i always have trouble with this pattern. i can tie countless patterns that are way more complex and this one always stumps me. i think the key with this fly is sparseness.

I dont have much experience in fishing for bass or panfish. for bass i would think you could get away w a bigger hook up to 3/0 maybe??? and panfish look to have a smaller mouth. a #6-#10 maybe?? hope that helps
