Officer: Kat? Is that you?
I looked at him... and then I recognized him. No. Way.
-End Kat's POV-
-Aly's POV-
What are they doing here? How did they find us? WHY were they searching? Oh god! What's going to happen to Kat? I should go back to her....
Nick: Aly no!
He pulled me forward again and we kept running. His hand in mine was the only thing keeping me from either falling, or going back. I knew Kat had it covered. She always would. We got back to the house and burst through the door. Oops.
Regina: Oh!
I couldn't help it. I started giggling. She cleared her throat, attempted to fix her hair, and stepped a little away from Alex. She was blushing SO BAD!
Regina: *clears her throat again* Um.... hi. Where's everyone else?
That sobered me up. I could feel the fear flowing back into me. I gave the condensed version.
Regina: Alex... I got to go. I'm really sorry. *she kissed him* I'll call you later. i promise.
Then she ran out the door. Nick and I followed. We caught up with her and then we all heard the sirens. Not sure if it was a good sign or a bad sign, we all slowed down as we neared them. Kat and Kevin were on the ground and there were several officers dragging my parents into separate cars. There was 1 officer talking to Kat and Kevin. As we neared them, he leaned down.
Officer: Kat? Is that you?
Kat looked up at him. I didn't recognize the guy, but she obviously did. Her mouth fell open. "Kat! What happened??" We all ran over to her.
Kat: *still staring at the officer*
Officer: Regina and Aly too?
Regina: How do you know us?
"Who are you?"
Officer: Come on guys. *takes off his helmet*
My mouth fell open too. Regina gasped.
Kevin: Um.... who is he?
Kat: Kevin.... this is John.
I laughed and threw my arms around him. We hadn't seen John since he had gotten his job.
John: *laughs* Good to see you too.
Nick: Um.... I'm still confused... who IS he?
I laughed again. "Sorry Nick! This is.. well..." I glanced at Kat.
Kat: He's a friend of ours.
Nice choice of words Kat.
John: I heard you 3 ran away from home.
I wasn't sure if he was teasing us... or becoming the police officer again.... So I decided to pretend to be a terrified little girl. "Oh please officer! Our parents were abusive. We just HAD to run away sir! Kat is my mommy now!" I hugged her.
John: *laughs and ruffles my hair* How about you guys show me your new home?
Kat: *gets up and then helps Kevin to his feet* Sure. this way.
We started walking toward our houses... but I suddenly realized something. "JOE AND JAZZ!" And I took off.
Nick: ALY! *runs after me*
I ran as fast as I could. I went to the only place that made sense to me. Their house. I didn't knock... just ran through the door. "JOE? JAZZ?"
Joe: Aly? Is that you?
I felt all my fear go out of me. "Yeah." I called back. "It's me."
He came downstairs. Jazz followed him and I couldn't resist giving her a hug. She was like another sister to me! "Thank god! I was so scared!"
Jazz: *laughs and hugs me back* Don't have any faith in us?
"Of course I do... I.... wait a sec..........." I had just remembered. CRAP. Craig's friend!!!!! I turned and ran out the door. I met Regina, Kat, Kevin and John just outside.
Regina: Aly what is WITH you?
"CRAIG'S FRIEND!"
Kat: Oh.
Regina: That's...... oh.
Kevin: We have to do something....
Kat: *turns to John* We need your help.
And she explained the whole thing. He grabbed his police radio and started relaying the information. Saying they had to track this kid down. He had a gun. Blah blah blah police stuff blah blah blah. So then he had to run off, but Kat had scribbled their address down for him so he could come back after finding the kid. I wonder what's going to happen now. I mean.... they had been going pretty steady for a REALLY long time....... But... now with Kevin...... hmm.. I guess I'll have to wait and see how it plays out.....
