First, what-in-the-hell are DARK GREEN UH-60 Blackhawks of the 101st Airborne (Air Assault) "Screaming Eagles" doing flying in broad daylight in BLUE SKY TANK Iraq? Do we WANT TO GET SHOT DOWN? ALL Army aircraft should be painted in SKY GRAY colors.

Notice the UH-60 interiors don't have improved I-bars to attach fast ropes, what good is sending everyone to Air Assault school if you're not going to exploit hovering insertion/extraction for unpredictability but just land in obvious, open danger areas?

Movement form the open danger area should be by IMT bounds overwatched by sub-units ready to return fire--not a clusterfuck walking to the nearest buildings. The Iraqi apprentice infantry were not even in dismounted formations like the wedge. If patrolling such a large open area, where are the folding mountain bikes to cover distances faster at 10-25 mph instead of a 1 mph foot-slog? Folded ATBs in Cashwell bags could be bundled under the UH-60 and released upon landing

The standard of individual Soldier camouflage is piss-poor. Where are the burlap strips to break up outlines? How much does burlap sacks cost? Why is there all this BLACK on Soldiers? Paint rifles, sun,wind, dust goggle straps, how much does a CAN of TAN spray paint cost?

On a positive note, the tactically unsound Humvee trucks when they arrived had ORANGE TRAFFIC CONES to visibly delineate a temporary road block. At least this is one group of Soldiers not wanting to play god-with-their-guns with mythical mental "trigger lines" in their head that Iraqi civilians are supposed to have ESP to know about.

the reason there not sky blue is so we dont stick out to jets. Helicopters can fly low and fast hidding from most stuff on the ground. However a fighter jet has rockets that will hit shit going mach 1.5 or something. ( blackhawk velocity not to exceed 193 kts "222mph"). Now that ive said that someone will post "we have air superiority". Yeah well maybe we wont against Iran, China, North Korea ect. other than that pretty cool video

@jerred39 Didn't stop USAF from fratriciding two groups of Soldiers in UH-60s over northern Iraq. Main threat other than incompetent USAF pilots is from THE GROUND. Army helos should be sky gray.

uh-60 come with the ge t700 turbine that produces 1400-1600 shaft hp top speed 185 is pushing it. ask me how i know i am a fellow 15tango blackhawk mechanic. i need to go back to filling out more -2's in uls a :)

I like what you have to say in the video description - perhaps the "expendable" attitude that goes with having an infinate influx of recruits means training standards are lapsing, and they are sending extremely unprepared soldiers into a big shit fight.

A mate of mine said those guys that are dug in are very seasoned fighters, and extremely under estimated
