"Superstition" (Stevie Wonder) - Atina Jazz Festival Jam Session July/11

This summer I had the privilege of performing at the Atina Jazz Festival in Italy with my funk band SOMA. Other acts included Incognito, Wynton Marsalis, Al Jarreau, Hilario Duran and many others! It was an amazing experience performing, getting to know some amazing people, and experiencing the rich culture. From time to time SOMA would host the nightly jam session that took place after the main-stage show. We would play a few numbers as a band then invite all the other musicians (both local and international) to come up and jam whatever songs we thought we might be able to throw together.

We hosted the jam a few times, but this video is from our first night where someone called "Superstition" and we decided to give it a try. Just to reiterate, no rehearsal, just made it up on the fly haha! There's so many people onstage at this point and I dunno how to spell everyone's names, but it was a fun jam and it turned out alright. This is one of the few times you'll hear me sing in this kind of live situation, and rightly so, I mess up the words!

@ChrisisBass13 Haha cause I can't sing it in Eb! I'm no Stevie Wonder so i had to pitch it down to sing it in a manageable key.

@06jme I wouldn't really call Stevie Wonder "technically challenging".... not by the standards of jazz musicians, anyway.

But it was still a really great performance!
