Boo discusses H1N1. Notice the 2 people who come in to sit behind her towards the end of the first minute.

A full transcript can be found on my blog.

  • Good stuff, the audio seems a lot clearer now

    "example"

I'll look it up now actually but ask anyway, in case you cover it in a lesson type vid ever..

If i want to say "for example.." i say ตัวอย่าง..

    e.g. ตัวอย่างคุณไม่ไป

if i want to say "it's like.." i say มันเช่น

    e.g. มันเช่นสีแดง

she said อย่างเช่น, not sure how that works?

  • If you want to say "for example," you should be saying .. อย่างเช่น.

ตัวอย่าง is used differently. Think of it more like a sample question on a test or a sample product for a customer.

I'd like you to do 2 things. Go and google

    "ตัวอย่างคุณไม่ไป"

    "มันเช่นสีแดง"

Keep the quotes and let me know what you come up with.

  • Funny how those two people come in with masks on right as she is talking about H1N1. It's true that masks are rather ineffective. Most influenza transmissions occur because someone doesn't wash their hands and then touches their face. People with masks still rub their eyes and will pull their mask down to pick their nose or touch their lips when eating. Just wash your hands frequently and avoid touching your face. Using alcohol-based sanitizers are good because they can denature the virus.

  • Yea it was pretty amusing. They are starting to give out the sanitizers, but I'm not sure if its catching on or not.

  • This rocks, especially now that there's a transliteration. Thanks to Boo for transcribing it!

  • I used to think thais probably didn't speak all that fast it was just my little brain wasn't quick enough, but i'm not sure now, it seems that they naturally do speak a lot quicker.

  • It came up with... nowt. Good idea that, i'll check stuff there, though I seldom guess stuff, the 'example' phrases have just been ones that have stuck with me from when I first started learning

Tried posting a link in your channel but it didn't like it, so I sent a pmbout a little site i came across with flash kids stories, I hope it arrived?
