ABSTRACT

Much of what we know about innovation is wrong. That's the bet this talk takes, as it romps through the history of innovation, dispelling the mythologies we've constructed about how we got here. This talk, loosely based on the upcoming O'Reilly book (May 2007), will help you to recognize the myths, understand why they're popular (even if you don't believe in them), and how to use the truth to help you innovate today.

  • Author has very well tried to present his idea of Innovation. I can summerize a bit of what he wants to say in one line...

"Today's innovation is tommorrows common sense."

  • well, google owns youtube :-D

  • Ironic. "A guy from Microsoft presenting innovation". Comes from an environment where stealing ideas is held on par with innovation, where having a "Balls-mer" attitude is considered innovative. He talks around innovation, makes some interesting points, but I wager has never experienced the culture, mindset, or feeling that encourages innovation, and in fact talks about innovation as if it's this huge struggle, which it obviously is... from inside Microsoft.

  • The dynamic delivery of free books was just great! haha

  • Better than the Ted Talks!

  • @JESUSSDAD i thought it would be about innovations which didn't really add anything new to the world but are concidered amazing or progressive, like when they make a new OS which is worse than older ones etc. it was still interesting.

  • Invention, Innovation, Discovery and Serendipity

are different activities which introduce new concepts, products, services or ideas
