I'm 31 and I suffer from Microtia on my right side, I want to have this done, but am wondering what it costs?? I would want the rib cartilage procedure though.

That's still a foreign body though.
I'm glad your sons ear worked out well and hasn't become infected, but these facts should be known to people considering the surgery. Rib cartilage is safer because it's not a foreign body.

My son 4 just returned from LA to have surgery with Rienich's partner Dr. Lewin at Cedars Sinai. They will do it as young as 3 there. My sons new ear is beautiful. She is very talented and I would recommend her to anyone with microtia. They use Medpor.

How amazing!!! Im so pleased for you. My daughter has left microtia and is 2 months old and I feel so helpless and sad that we cant help her yet, it has been an inpspiration to hear your story. So sad that there is very little information and support about this in the uk. Good luck with everything:)

From what I've researched rib cartlage is used because the chances of it becoming infected/rejected are far less than plastic...
