Great song from the mid 90"s

Smoke Gets In Your Eyes

They asked me how I knew
My true love was true
Oh, I of course replied
Something here inside cannot be denied

They said someday you'll find
All who love are blind
Oh, when your heart's on fire
You must realize
Smoke gets in your eyes

So I chaffed them and I gaily laughed
To think they could doubt my love
Yet today my love has flown away
I am without my love

Now laughing friends deride
Tears I can not hide
Oh, so I smile and say
When a lovely flame dies
Smoke gets in your eyes
Smoke gets in your eyes

  • Brings back loads of high school memories , Thanks for the upload !

  • such a shame there's no video for it anywhere, I used to think it was really funny & sweet when I was a kid, well, it's still sweet...

  • To be fair the odds are against it. Take a classic song, get a guy from London's Burning to cover it and do it in a reggae pop style. On that basis it should be dreadful but somehow it is absolutely fantastic and I can't stop listening to it. Good work John Alford!

  • Best cover :)

  • I have tried finding the video for this everywhere, but cannot, much to my despair, can any one find it?? BUT in the mean time, thank you for uploading this.. Love, love, loved John Alford, and dreamt he was singing this to me in my younger days hahaha :)

  • I'm admit I like this song...I probably shouldn't though!

  • you can use a program called mp3rocket - simply enter the web address of the video on youtube and it will convert it to an mp3 for you
