Volvo auto brake fails during demo!

A major safety blunder on camera by Volvo. Automatic braking test failure caught on cam. Surely this will tarnish the Volvo image a bit.

Major safety blunder? How do you figure? It is a feature that is meant to automatically brake if the driver is not paying attention, something that most other cars do not have. It is a secondary feature. Some people are so dumb.

New? this is not new mercedes distronic circa 1998 S-class using radar applies 20% brakes to maintain following distance. Distronic+ capable of max brake will bring the car to a complete stop and one up volvo by accelerating from a stop to maintain flow of traffic without driver input. What would make this new is perhaps its price range. Good theory, but scary in practice.

If anyone want to know what really happened. The morons that where showing the car off had to charge the battery, but they used a to powerful charger so the fried the computer.

@Danielsbchristensen How do you figure? You do realize that this is NOT the primary brake right? Apples and oranges when it comes to your life vest analogy... Two complete different things. A life vest is meant as a primary safety feature in fatigue inducing situations. Regardless, you began your comment by calling me a freak, anything thereafter is pretty much null and void.

Ok so volvo's auto braking doobly-doo failed..... everybody's making a big hoopla about this. Anybody remember the days when people had to pay attention and stop on their own?
