The late Molly O'Day doing an all time great. Molly was born in Pike County Kentucky in 1923. She died in 1987. Then, like some artist now, she used Molly O'Day as her stage name. Her real name was Lois LaVerne Williamson. Kentucky has always been proud to claim her. She was a beautiful lady and her music is still sought after and loved by lots of people today across the world.

  • What a singer! She is really saturating that mic. Gals, this is what a female vocalist should sound like.

  • I found her gospel record at a flea market for a dollar or two and I wore it out on my vintage tube record player. MY GOODNESS

  • I have just discovered Molly O'Day. Don't know how I missed this great artist

  • Boy this brings tears to my eyes as I grew up listening to my great aunt. She was grandma's sister and we used to listen to all her records and many times got to enjoy her singing and playing her banjo along with my great uncle Cecil(Skeets) during my many visits to my great grandma's in Kentucky. My aunt Laverne(Molly O'Day ) visited us many times to encourage us to go to church and live our lives for Jesus. She was a great lady!!!

  • I had never heard of her until today. I was reading about Tammy Wynette on Wiki learned that she was a big fan of gospel and particularly of O'Day, when she was growing up.

  • Country singer-the late Walter Bailes,of Balies Brothers, his wife,Frankie, wrote this song, on a Train, from Louisiana, to North Carolina, to see her mother. according to WSM's Eddie Stubbs. Molly O'Day, went into the Ministry, before she died. She was one of the "first" Mountain style female singers, of Country Music. She needs to be put into the Hall Of Fame, but they've long passed entertainers, like her !

  • i GREW UP ON THIS WOMANS MUSIC A STILL LOVE IT. POST ALL YOU CAN OF HER.
