WTF IS WITH ALL THE DISLIKES?!?!
-
xD
love it

It's not so much a song and dance, it's a chant to ask the gods and ansestors for strength, protection and blessing before going into battle. it's also to psych up in preperation. This is why several polynesion sport teams do a haka before a game.
-
thats a new zealand dance right?
the tongue sticking out was to signify that after you were killed he will eat you
-
@COOLHEAT3 A Maori actor from New Zealand played Jango Fett.
-
The actor who played that Jango Fett Dance, that was my Dads friend. He did a polynesian dance
-
@uhwaykin Oh sorry haha, I thought you were trying to say he was NZ Maori. Woops. Also there are Cook Island Maori etc. So not all Maori people are New Zealanders.
-
@nightwing365 Aren't all Maori hakas technically Kiwi? They're the indigenous people.
You don't seem to understand what I'm saying. This was filmed in Toronto. This guy is probably Canadian or American by nationality, so he's not going to sound like a Kiwi Maori.
-
@uhwaykin Toronto? And that is a Kiwi Haka, Ka Mate, it originates from Ngāti Toa a North Island tribe.
-
@nightwing365 Look at where it was filmed. He may not be KIWI Maori, but Maori all the same.
The Actor who plays Jango Fett in Star Wars II, Temuera Morrison, is a Maori, which is the indigineous Polynesian people of New Zealand. He's performing a Haka, which is a traditional Maori dance. The New Zealand rugby team, The All Blacks, perform this before all of their games.
