  • Carreras,català universal,per molt anys!!!!

  • Pobret meu lo que fue este hombre...

  • early childhood memories are returning listening to this song...what joy! thank you!

    well sang and orchestrated...

  • @fra1nsn He did pretty good here. :) Some people think he should stop singing, but I think he can keep going for a little while longer. He does great with songs like this. I would love to see him again, and I hope he sings this if I ever do.

  • Every single time I hear Carreras sing this song, I almost melt. :) It's such a lovely song.

  • Can't get enough of this. This interpretation with the thickness of his voice is even better than the one from 84'.

    BRAVO!!!

  • Great song! :) I like it when he sings Catalan songs. It's nice to hear him sing in his native tongue besides languages I normally hear from him, such as English, Spanish, French, Italian, etc.

  • After the victory of General Franco in 1939 in Spain, Catalan language was banned on radio and public and official life in Catalonia (where Carreras is from). This aria (or "romança") was the first piece in Catalan allowed to sound on radio many years later, sung by tenor Emili Vendrell; they say most of Catalan grannies cried that very moment.

  • Jose Carreras is for me the best tenor ever! His interpretations are always from the bottom of his soul...
