My hubby is overseas at a place called Bahrain. My first christmas with him gone :( but only 4 1/2 more months to go!! Can't wait to see my man! This song is wonderful, sad, but perfect. *A special thanks to every single man or woman serving in our military, and a special thanks to all military spouses! God bless

Beautiful song. The first time I heard it, I cried. I felt that our troops have remained in the Middle East for way longer than they need to be, and need to return to their respective countries (America and Canada included). It's one of my favourite songs on her first (and hopefully one of many to come) Christmas cd.

I heard this song years ago and would always think of my friends fighting overseas and one special soldier who always held a piece of my heart.. This year, so many are going to be home for Christmas. Simply beautiful.

@sasukeluvr10 I LOVE this song. I have some friends who are stationed in Iraq and this song makes me even more wonder what's going on with them, whether they're alive, whether they're dead. I cry whenever I listen to this song.

@FinalBossDesu I'm sorry that you feel that way. I love this song, and obviously so does most everyone who has listened to this song.

Sorry but I don't like this song.

@morikahjo I couldn't agree more. Not all patriots are straight, white, and Christian. Some are gay and lesbian, some are Jewish, whatever!

@Seattlecarnut Yeah....I agree....at least SOMEONE is supporting the troups....hate doesn't really fix anything....just makes things worse...

:/ I miss my dad...this song is one of the songs that makes me think of him. Maybe this Christmas I will get to spend it with my dad! And i know he will be happy too! :D

And what if the singer is lesbian? Does that make her any less of a person for it? I fail to see how. She's still American and she still supports the troops, hence this song. If you don't like this song, fine. Don't like this song. Your loss.

@korni6on "the man" is no one in particular. It's metaphor for anything/anyone that keeps us away from who/what we love. In this song particular, I think "the man" is war -- any war.
