a movie of 2 and a half hour propotion summed up in 3 minutes and 30 seconds...
And all that have to happen, was a man to step of a train!

@meNtor890 In the commentary track Cristopher Frayling calls that part of the theme during that scene Franks theme. Perhaps it is a musical hint towards the characters past, that is a secret throughout most of the film. In the end their story's come together, just like their musical themes. In the good the bad and the ugly, all main characters had a variation of the main theme, which is somewhat similar to this.

@CatSkinCap thx for the other comments, though.

@CatSkinCap sure, but it's still over analyzing. Frank's never been shown with the Harmonica. he just happened to carry it and stick it in his mouth. doesn't mean anything to him, only to mr. harmonica himself. Don't reach for such far fetched arguments, wastes everyone's time. I guess this music played for the little dead boy only because it has a suitable mood.

@meNtor890 Yes he is. Remember the flashback of Harmonica? Frank pulled out the instrument from his pocket and put it in the younger brother's mouth, hence making him the next holder of the harmonica.

@Ungraceful94 you got a brother? :O I never knew that!

you know what, stare like eastwood or charles bronson and imagine yourself staring at someone, while listening to this music. the music is brilliantly perfect!
shivers run through my body everytime I hear this song
