Chris Matthews: 3rd Party candidacy is obvious route to the White House

I'm not quite sure what this is...whether Matthews just couldn't find another way to try to land an anti-Ron Paul punch, or whether he actually thinks he can goad an entire Presidential campaign to change its entire strategy with a single last-second throwaway spur.

Does Crazy Chris really think encouraging Republican candidates to run 3rd party will work as a way to get Obama four more years? Or was he just reaching for some way to stop the irrepressible Wead media train?

Either way, one word comes to mind: desperate.

Also, a Romney/Obama election carries ZERO interest for the mainstream media, and neither the democrats nor the republicans care. The Republicans don't like Romney and the Democrats are disappointed with Obama. Ron Paul will be THE story in the country if he chooses to do it. He will make the debates, he will carry the independents, win or not, it will be HIS show.

Chris Matthews is lying to his audience right now. 3rd party nomination is IMPOSSIBLE. I'm willing to bet money on it I am so sure. All 3rd party talk is just to entertain the talking heads in the media!
