Published reports say New York Jets Quarterback Mark Sanchez "hooked up" with a 17-year-old Connecticut high schooler last month.  Deadspin.com is reporting that the 24-year-old Sanchez had a rendezvous with a teen they identify only as "E.K."  While Deadspin does not mention "E.K.'s" full name, the New York Post does - identifying her as Eliza Kruger, the daughter of a "super wealthy financier" from Connecticut. 

In a post entitled, "The Somewhat Romantic Story of Mark Sanchez and a 17-Year-Old-Girl," Deadspin says Sanchez met "E.K." at a Manhattan nightclub on New Year's Eve.  The story goes on to say that "E.K." gave Sanchez her phone number and added, "You know I'm 17, right?"  Sanchez allegedly replied that he couldn't see "E.K." until she turned 18.  Deadspin says "E.K." replied, "17 is legal in New York." 

According to the Deadspin article, Mark Sanchez and "E.K." reportedly "hooked up" at the Jets QB's New Jersey house a few days after they met at the New York nightclub.  Deadspin published photos allegedly taken by "E.K." of Sanchez's home, including one showing Sanchez' bed. 

Did Mark Sanchez break the law?  According to NBC Sports, no, as the age of consent in New York is 17 and it's 16 in New Jersey - so "no laws were broken."  As for the New York Jets, the New York Post says a team spokesman "would not comment on Sanchez's personal life."  The Post also says Sanchez "could not be reached for comment."
