Unless youre living a strictly vegan diet, then everything you eat and perhaps wear comes from animals that are abused. Dont get your panties in a bundle because kids are riding them. First off, mutton busting has a weight limit so a child cant hurt the sheep due to size and also, no spurs are allowed, so unlike other rodeo animals, they don't have anything sharp digging in their sides. If anything the only thing that would really hurt the sheep is the child trying to get a grasp on their wool.

If my kid wanted to do this & then got too scared I would tell her it is ok not to. You think you can police human actions. How do you plan on policing wolves & other predators that hamstring prey animals & then leave them for dead? Predators do kill animals and leave them to suffer. As for kids getting hurt, there are a many activites they can do & get hurt doing! Playgrounds are fun but do present hazards! I will eat a hamburger in your honor at the state fair right after the mutton busting!

No, not made of glass. Sensitive, capable of being terrified, and certainly not made for humans - even children - to ride on their backs. And to S*** for brains, nothing ever scared me. As a kid I would have gone for this 100%. But parents should know better. And it's time to stop using animals without regard to their pain and suffering. Another sport where the humans think up reasons why they need to abuse animals.
