Yes, Paul Gross has played Diefenbaker, and had a wolf-husky companion named Diefenbaker. Plus he's played a Mountie (RCMP Officer) at least three times in his career (as well as a police officer in "Wilby Wonderful")... Yet another pattern in his career: has twice played the role of Prime Minister of Canada (as JD and as fictitious PM Tom McLaughlin), topping that off with a run for the Presidency of the fictitious amalgamated USA/Canada country, also as Tom McLaughlin. But I digress!
