Helping Haiti

VICTORIA - Shattered infrastructure and impassable roads are creating one of the biggest challenges for Canada's relief efforts in Haiti.
Supplies, food and clean water are getting to people who need it although not as quickly as everyone would like.

The Canadian Red Cross has raised more than $27 million for earthquake relief efforts in Haiti.

In Victoria, donations have been coming in steadily including more than $140,000 over the weekend.

You can drop donations off at any Canadian Red Cross office on Vancouver Island or donate On-line at www.redcross.ca.
